  • Observatory Staff received Chief Executive’s Commendation for Government/Public Service

Mr IP Wing-sing, Senior Radar Specialist Mechanic of the Observatory, received the Chief Executive’s Commendation for Government/Public Service. He was commended for his outstanding performance, persistent commitment and tireless endeavours in innovative development work on meteorological instrumentation of the Observatory. He worked devotedly on new challenges and solved problems with new methods to meet project objectives. He voluntarily served as a mentor on electronics and instrumentation in the Observatory’s mentorship programme. Away from office, Mr Ip served as a voluntary officer for the Civil Aid Service for over 33 years. He received the Commissioner’s Commendation twice during the service period and was granted honourable officer after retirement from the voluntary service.

The Chief Executive's Commendation for Government/Public Service is awarded to selected civil servants and public officers for their outstanding performance in a single act or a single project, or outstanding service in a government department or public organization. The award presentation ceremony was held at the Government House on 21 October 2017.
