Showers are affecting the coastal areas of Guangdong and the northern part of the South China Sea.

At 8 a.m., the tropical depression near Luzon Strait was centred about 220 kilometres east of Dongsha. It is forecast to move northwest at about 12 kilometres per hour across the northern part of the South China Sea.
