The Observatory supported the Dragonair Aviation Certificate Programme, the second year in a row, by providing meteorological training to youngsters of the Hong Kong Air Cadet Corps. The objective of the training is to arouse the interest of the young Cadets in aviation and to prepare them for future participation in the industry. On 21 September 2007, Messrs. B.L. Choy and C.Y. Hong of the Observatory provided them basic training on weather observation and forecasting. Visits to the Airport Meteorological Office and hands-on training were also provided on the next day.
