When aircraft on the ground of the airport, aerodrome
facilities and services are affected or will be affected by adverse weather, the Airport
Meteorological Office (AMO) issues aerodrome warnings. The types of adverse weather which
warrant the issue of aerodrome warnings include :-
- Tropical cyclone
- Thunderstorm
- Hail
- Strong surface wind and gusts
- Squall
- Frost.
The AMO also issues Low-level Windshear and
Turbulence Alerts. |
